Mini Dental Implants (MDIs)

Mini dental implants can be used as an alternative to traditional implants. They consist of very small titanium posts that are placed in one visit. They are gently inserted into the jaw bone, usually without any surgery or incision, and do not require months to heal. This procedure takes about one hour and generally only requires local anesthetic. Mini dental implants are also cost-effective, costing considerably less than traditional implants.

MDIs can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth (as an alternative to placing traditional implants) or to help stabilize complete and partial dentures.

Alternative to Traditional Dental Implants

A dental implant acts an artificial root for missing teeth. They are made of a titanium alloy, with the artificial teeth cemented (bonded) on them. Inserting implants generally provides the most, secure, natural and durable option for replacing missing teeth.

Not only does a dental implant fill unsightly gaps in a smile, they also are important to deter bone loss.

For many cases, Dr. Madow can use MDIs to replace single or multiple missing teeth. These generally require less surgery, less healing time, have less post-operative discomfort and are lower in cost than traditional dental implants.

Mini Dental Implants used to stabilize dentures

MDIs can be used to securely stabilize and retain complete or partial dentures - normally in two visits! This makes your dentures comfortable and stable so that they won't slip or come loose. MDIs can also do away with the need for your upper denture to totally cover the roof of your mouth - eliminating gagging, and improving your ability to taste food!
